If you don’t have your fall and winter events planned out, TODAY is the day to do so! The holidays are on their way and it’s a perfect time to do some fun, in-office events.

October
“Halloween Spooktaular”
Organize a “spine-tingling” week full of fun for both kids AND adults! Provide activities for the kids that come in the office and a referral contest for the adults.
Kids Activities: Visit www.OrientalTrading.com. You’ll discover TONS of simple, fun, and affordable crafts for the little ones to do!
Adult Referral Contest: NEW PATIENTS, NEW PATIENTS, NEW PATIENTS!!! First you must choose a prize. In the past years we’ve done a massage chair. Other ideas are a flat screen tv, Ipod, or some kind of health related product. We bought the massage chair in advance, so it can be out in the reception room so patients can sample it and get really excited about winning this fabulous prize! So during this week in October or the entire month (up to you), pass out referral cards that have the current patient’s name and an expiration date. Tell the patient to give this card to their family, friend, or co-workers and have it give some kind of special for a New Patient visit in your office. When that new patient comes in for their first visit, your existing patient will automatically be entered to win the prize! Tell the patient that their chances to win are unlimited, so the more they refer, the better their chances to win!
If you want to see flyers we’ve done in the past for this type of event, just email me!

November
“Fall Food Drive”
Thanksgiving is one of the most recognized holidays for November. What’s better than GIVING during this month? Ask & encourage your patients to bring in canned food or other non-perishables during a week in November. Find a community food pantry or other organization where you can contact before hand and let them know you’d love to help gather donations for them. This way, when you tell your patients about this, you can share with them where the donations will be going to. To help encourage your patients to bring in a donation, offer an incentive. I like the idea of “Bring in a donation and spin our WELLNESS WHEEL!” Each marker on the wheel has a different prize to win, such as a discounted service, discounted product, gift certificate for family or friend, a small prize, or even something fun like a “hug from Dr. Heather!”
When you do an event like this, MAKE SURE you are doing a press release. By alerting the newspaper, radio, tv stations and other local networking resources you’ll be able to share with the community what you are doing to give back!

December
“Even Santa Gets Adjusted!”
Schedule an early evening or a weekend morning where patients can bring their families in to get a free picture with Santa! Even better, open this up to the community! Tell patients to bring their family and friends. Post flyers for a free picture with Santa at local businesses and community boards. Rent a Santa costume and find a loving friend to dress to impress! To take this to the next level if you want, incorporate this morning or evening into a baking contest too. That way people that come for a picture, will also bring in baked goods, which give people something to snack on too!
“Winter Coat Drive”
There are too many less fortunate people out there that go through winter without a quality coat! This “drive” is very similar to the November Food Drive. Serve as a “drop off” for your patients to recycle gently used or new coats, scarves, gloves, etc for the less fortunate in the community. Again, share a press release for this event!

“New Year Resolution Letter”
New Years is one of the most probable times a person will be thinking about health and well-being. Help your “lost” patients start their New Year off right by re-committing to a healthier lifestyle and coming back into the clinic for chiropractic care! Send a letter reminding your inactive patients of the importance of a chiropractic checkup! Offer some kind of “re-start-up” special to help make this transition easy for them!
If you need help putting together a letter like this, e-mail me and I’ll give you some personal tips!
